Tribute to Irena Sendler, מחווה אירנה סנדלר

I received a chain mail paying tribute to Irena Sendler,obm, who saved 2500 Jewish children during the Holocaust, by placing them with foster Polish Catholic families, and attempted to reunite them with their families after the war.  In the chain mail, is a reminder that the madmen who run Iran today have to be shut down for denying the Holocaust.  So, in honor of Parshas Chaye Sarah, I'm paying tribute to a righteous gentile, Irena Sendler.  May her memory be for a blessing.

Understanding the Holocaust, להבין את השואה

There is a lot of panic being created by irresponsible people about an impending Holocaust in the Diaspora, with a message that Jews should run to Eretz Yisrael to find a safe haven.  Well, that has been done and tried. The prophet Yonah had to rebuke the gentiles in the city of Nineveh.  He tried to escape from his mission because he was embarrassed that the Jews, who were the ones who needed to do teshuva, would not listen, yet the gentiles would. So he ran away from his mission, but Hashem had other plans for him:  like creating a storm where his escape boat was; having a fish swallowed him up after he was thrown off  to sea to calm the seas and having the fish spit him out by the shores of Nineveh. Within three days in the fish's belly, Yonah did teshuva.   So, we think we can run away from the diaspora to Eretz Yisrael. Like the prophet Yonah, we can't run away from doing teshuva, no matter where we are in this world.

The following video is put out by Hidabroot, a Jewish kiruv organization in Eretz Yisrael, where teshuva is needed most.  One cannot continue to live in Hashem's palace and continue to bring tumah (impurity) into the land.  This video describes the situations that led to the Holocaust, with Hashem's involvement in every step, to bring the Jews to do teshuva.

Will the Holocaust ever happen again, chas v'shalom? According to Rabbi Yisroel Ariel, it has been happening in Eretz Yisrael.  Here are some of his quotes in an interview:

Q: Five years have passed since the expulsion- have we learned the lesson of Gush Katif?

"I call it the Holocaust syndrome′. I meet with famous researchers that researched the Gush Katif expulsion, and Holocaust researchers. It is amazing how they find similarities in how they proceed. The leaders know that the ′peace′ they signed in Camp David is just a different mode of war- with different strategies, hugs, polite meetings, ′gestures of good will′. This is how they slice Eretz Yisroel like a salami. They sliced Sinai to save Gush Katif, and they sliced the Gush to save Yesha. They announce a construction freeze while building an Arab city- Rawabi- for one quarter of a million Arabs, in the heart of Eretz Yisroel, with assistance of the JNF (Keren Kayemet). This sets the stage for the next move- ceding to the ′Auschwitz borders′, as defined by Abba Eban.

"The leaders know that they are personally preparing the next Yom Kippur War, but in order to save their holy (shaky) position, they continue to wave the ′peace′ flag. The peace with Egypt is a farce. In Egypt, Mein Kampf, by Hitler, yemach shemo, is studied, as well as the ′Protocols of the Elders of Zion′. Both are anti-Semitic writings that call to kill Jews. Egypt is the source of animosity and hate in the world against Israel. What does the Prime Minister do? He runs to report and prostrate himself in front of a dying Mubarak. And what does he announce upon leaving? "Egypt is an important and central component in the peace programs of Israel.′"

Q: Are we going again as sheep to the slaughter?

"During the Holocaust there were neither grenades nor guns in the ghetto, nor a slice of bread for breakfast. Today we have it all, it′s called ′the strongest army in the Middle East′. Despite this, the leaders behave as the last of the defeatists.

"They take Israel′s most significant assets, and hand them over to the enemy on a silver platter, free of charge. Holocaust researchers are amazed, and can′t believe what is happening here in Israel. The Gush Katif researchers have found astonishing similarities to the psychological warfare used against the Jews. Black uniforms sewn especially for the expulsion, the march in black blocs to the Gush settlements, all orchestrated to paralyze and stun. The soldiers went through mental brainwashing programming to shut down and kill the soldiers′ natural Jewish compassion, and program them to act cruelly towards their fellow Jews.

No one dared say Rabbi Wolpo was actually wrong. His logic is simple. His facts are correct. According to the laws of the land, aiding terrorists is an act of treason. Treason carries the death sentence.
