Shushan, once the capital of Persia is preserved today in the modern state of Iran.   You can take a look at some of these pictures, courtesy of the Internet, about the palace of Achashverosh, which today is called The Palace of Darius the Great, and its surrounding areas.

Only Surviving Album - Auschwitz, היחיד ששרד אלבום - אושוויץ

I received this in my email today, from a gentile friend.

This is the story of a Hungarian Jewish woman who survived Auschwitz and found a coat belonging to a guard which she took to shield her from the cold immediately after her liberation.

In the pocket of this coat she found a photo album. It contained pictures of what went on in this extermination camp.

Imagine her reaction when she saw a picture of herself coming off of the train as well pictures of her family who were already murdered.

This album at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem was donated by this woman in 1980 and will forever be displayed there.

Plato and Aristotle

Plato related that a prophet who lived during the time of King Morinus conveyed the following Divine prophecy to a philosopher, "You cannot attain Me through your methods (of speculative philosophy). Only through the prophets and the Torah which are My appointed intermediaries to mankind can you obtain true faith in Me."

According to ancient manuscripts this prophet was Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah), who was contemporary with Plato, and the philosopher referred to is Plato himself. Plato knew that Yirmiyahu was a sage and a prophet.  He is quoted as saying, "I was with Yirmiyahu in Egypt.  At first I ridiculed him and his words, but after I knew him well, I recognized that his words were the words of the Living G_D." -- Otzar Nechmad
