Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi constantly reminds us on what we need to do to prepare for the war of Gog uMagog.  You don't need Nir ben Artzi to tell you about disasters, everyone should know that Hashem is shaking the world.  For instance, the one week power outage from NJ to Maine was a mini test practice on how to survive in periods of darkness.  The question we need to ask ourselves is "What does Hashem want from me?"
