Earthquakes, Jews and Homosexuality, רעידות אדמה, יהודים והומוסקסואליות

Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein has a great shiur about "Hashem Runs the World", which connects the various events surrounding the time the last NY earthquake happened.  Basically he connects the passing of the law that makes homosexual marriages legal in NY to be a cause for the unforeseen earthquakes in NY.  This is nothing new, it has been mentioned in the Gemara.

We know that California is like the homosexual capital of USA, and so far, it has not suffered the "big" earthquake that scientists have been predicting, because California lies on fault lines and people will attribute earthquakes to that instead of homosexuality.

In addition, what can Jews do while the world around them supports abominations?  Rabbi Wallerstein says that the Jews in NY have lost their protection. Well, IMHO, it's not the abominations committed so much by the goyim, but the ones committed by the Jews themselves which drive Hashem "mad."  We don't take statistics for the percentage of Jews involved in abominations, including idolatry and homosexuality.  But if we do, I'm sure we'll be stunned.  Jews as well, are mixed up as they embrace homosexuality in Israel as well as other lands.  The sins are worse when committed in the Holy Land.  We do keep track of our Jewish youth breaking Shabbos or kidnapped by the Arabs (in Israel).  We have no control over what goyim do, but we must be accountable over what we Jews do. Hashem has a punishment for goyim when their measure of sins have reached their peak (Chumash - sins of Cananim in the Land of Israel).  But Jews live on a different level -- we are connected to Hashem directly, and every single "strange" event that happens in the world, is Hashem's way of naturally communicating with the Jews, and fortunately most of them in the past years have been "potches", in order to wake us up.

Don't be fooled by the literature that the gay community among (frum) Jews have disseminated, that it's OK to be gay and frum -- they are both mutually exclusive -- you cannot be both.  If you are gay, then you are not frum.  You have to do teshuva, and purge that from within yourself.  What you are doing is wrong and don't influence others to be like you.  Just because gays have existed since Biblical Times (read about them in Sedom and Amorah and Lot, as well as the episode of the concubine in Givah, Binyamin), doesn't mean that it's OK to be gay.  Hashem did not create gay people, only straight people.  Some where along the lines, some straight people became crooked, just like any other crooked person who does strange things and sin.  For instance, fallen angels cohabitating with the daughters of princes and begot giants (anakim), or the animals cohabiting outside of their species (see Rashi to Parashas Noach).  What animals do is a reflection of what humans around them do, and not the other way around.

But there is help, if you choose to take it. Don't continue to let your yetzer hara convince you to keep your distorted lifestyle. Elul is the month to cry out to Hashem and beseech Him to give you the help you really need.
