Parashas Emor from the Rebbetzin, פרשת אמור מרבנית

Rebbetzin Jungreis, in her weekly shiur, mentions Osama bin Laden. Just because he has toppled, the danger is still lurking. With the State of Israel being surrounded by more hostile neighbors than ever (since Mubarak is no more), the dangers of Bney Yishmael are still prevalent. It is up to each of us to do our part to do a little more each day, and cumulatively, we will all topple over Bney Yishmael with our teshuva, our Torah learning and mitzvos. The son of Dovid will not come until Bney Yishmael is completely overcome.

When the Jews were in Egypt, they stooped down to the 49th level of spirituality. If they had gone further down to the 50th level, they would not have been redeemed. So, what is the 50th level?  The Rebbetzin says it's DEPRESSION. If the Jews had become depressed, they would have not been redeemed. She recommends that one who goes through suffering, to not be depressed. She mentions that Christopher Reeves, obm, contributed more towards the world after his disability, then when he was Superman. His suffering from his debilitating illness changed him to become a much stronger person.

Then the Rebbetzin reminds us all that we are ambassadors of Hashem and our mission is to sanctify the name of Hashem. How we act daily is very important in the eyes of world citizenry. We have to be polite, kind, patient, and be a kiddush Hashem wherever we are. We are supposed to look at our Kohanim, and become Kohanim ourselves among the nations of the world.
